Kimberly Willett, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker | Trauma & EMDR Specialist | Owner VBCC
I believe healing begins when we feel safe, seen, and supported. My goal is to help clients rediscover their strengths and move toward lasting change. I specialize in trauma recovery, anxiety, depression, and relationship healing. I work primarily with adults and teens, using EMDR and CBT to promote emotional regulation and self-compassion. My approach is collaborative, evidence-based, and grounded in respect for each client’s unique journey. I value authenticity, humor, and warmth in the therapy room.
I started my training at William and Mary, earned my BA in Psychology and worked in public mental health for a few years before I decided to pursue my MSW at VCU. I took a very long maternity and returned to this field with age, wisdom and enthusiasm.
- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, College of William & Mary, 1989
- Education Master of Social Work- Mental Health, Virginia Commonwealth University, 1994
- EMDRIA Certification, 2023
- Certified in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, (KAP) 2024
Outside of work, I try to do what I challenge my clients to do. I get outside to run, walk, or paddle board. I spend time with my cute husband of 36 years, and I hang out with my 3 grown daughters as much as possible. I practice my Christian faith and make time for my church family and spiritual mentors. And I prioritize sleep. All these things allow me to show up to your sessions grounded, present and grateful to be there.
If you’re ready to begin the next chapter in your healing, I’d be honored to support you along the way. There's no better time than now.
