Specialized Therapy Tailored to Your Needs

At VBCC, we don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Our therapists specialize in evidence-based approaches including EMDR for trauma, cognitive-behavioral techniques for anxiety and depression, and relationship-focused therapy for couples and families.

Here's how we can help:

Counseling for Anxiety

Is anxiety taking over your life?

Does it feel like you can’t control it no matter how hard you try? Have you already tried therapy but found it ineffective? If this sounds like you, I’m confident I can help. My practice offers the most effective forms of treatment, to get the relief from anxiety that you deserve. When it comes to treating anxiety disorders, research shows that therapy is usually the most effective option.  Unlike medication alone, therapy for anxiety doesn’t just address the symptoms—it helps you understand what’s driving your anxiety and gives you the tools to manage it for the long term.

Counseling for Depression

Do these thoughts often enter your mind?

  • I am worthless and can’t do anything about it.
  • I feel guilty for just wanting to eat, sleep and be alone.
  • I hate who I am these days.
  • I can’t stop crying, which makes me want to stay away from others.
  • I feel gut-wrenching pain, but no one understands.
  • My life and the world around me are dark.                                         I hate it, but I can’t change it.

We can help.

Couples Counseling

Do you feel like your relationship is at a standstill?

Are you and your partner stuck in the same arguments over and over? Do you feel like you’re slowly drifting apart? Do you long for deeper connection and intimacy?

Every relationship can grow and improve—with support, guidance, and the right tools. In couples therapy, you’ll learn how to communicate your feelings and needs effectively, rebuild connection, and create the relationship you both want and deserve.

Family Counseling

Our families shape who we are and who we become—sometimes in ways that lift us up, and other times in ways that hold us back. Through our families, we learn language, habits, traditions, and the lens through which we see the world.

Family therapy can help anyone looking to build healthier, stronger, and more connected relationships within their family.

EMDR

What is EMDR?

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from different treatment approaches.

EMDR therapy is an integrative psychotherapy method that uses a technique called bilateral stimulation to repeatedly activate opposite sides of the brain. Therapists often use eye movements to facilitate bilateral stimulation.

Trauma and PTSD

Trauma comes in many forms.

Have you experienced a traumatic event? Are you suffering from lingering fear and anxiety? Do you feel like you no longer have any control over how you think, feel, and behave?

Posttraumatic stress disorder - also known as PTSD - is a mental health challenge that may occur in individuals who have experienced or witnessed a traumatic event such as a natural disaster, a terrorist act, an act of war, a serious accident, rape, or any other violent personal assault

Trauma can also leave wounds when it's more subtle. Bullying, detached parenting, verbal abuse and childhood food or housing insecurities also cause the brain and to hold trauma.

Grief & Bereavement Counseling

Time doesn't heal all wounds.

Grief and bereavement are never easy. Bereavement refers to the process of coping with the death of a loved one, while grief is the emotional response to any kind of loss. Both can bring a wide range of feelings—fear, anger, profound sadness, and everything in between.

The journey through loss is deeply personal. How we adapt can vary greatly depending on our background, beliefs, relationship with the person who has passed, and many other factors.

Social Skills Groups

Is your teen struggling to make friends?

Are you a young adult who feels alone and disconnected?

We all need friends. Research shows that friendships decrease depression and anxiety by providing emotional support, fostering a sense of connection, and reducing stress.

With guidance and support, we can help you or your teen build relationships that feel safe, authentic, and sustaining. Connection is possible, and it starts here.
